About

The Userware Toolbox is a collection of scripts and utilities that have been written to augment and enhance the Mentor Graphics suite of PCB applications.  Originally created for the Board Station family of products, the Userware Toolbox is now focused on scripts for the Enterprise Expedition suite of applications.

In all of the examples I post you will find a header similar to this (which came from a VBscript source file I posted recently):

' This software is NOT officially supported by Mentor Graphics.

Back in 1993 when I started posting AMPLE code to the MUG PCB mailing list, Mentor’s legal department asked me to add this disclaimer to everything I made freely available.  The disclaimer and statement of support are still valid so I continue to use it.  Basically it means that you can’t call Mentor’s customer support for help with any of these scripts.  They are provided “as-is” and you use them at your own risk.  That said, I try to help people when they run into problems with anything I’ve written but my ability to help is usually bounded by whatever I am currently working on and the commitments I am held accountable for.

So if you have a problem, drop me an e-mail.  I don’t follow the Mentor PCB Communities as closely as I should so I may or may not see a problem if it is posted there.
